“My God will meet all your needs. He will meet them in keeping with his wonderful riches that come to you because you belong to Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

What a great thing to remember in these difficult economic times!  God will meet all of our needs, all we have to do is ask and put our trust in Him.

In my Christian walk over the years, I have wondered from time to time why I don’t seem to see more of God moving in miraculous ways.  It’s certainly miraculous enough that the earth and that we even exist, but I’m talking about miracles on a personal level.  For instance, in times when James and I have been down financially we pray and give it to God, and then He comes through with unexpected money.  There have also been times when I have been down to the wire with the hiring of a horseback riding director for the summer and He orchestrates me meeting the right person at the right time.  Those instances have been real faith builders for me, and remind me that God really does care about the details of my life. The pastor of our church also talks of being in seminary, broke with a family of seven to feed, and having money down to the exact change needed come in just in time. (more…)

New for 2009 - THE BLOB and more…

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

The summer is right around the corner and we are getting so excited about another fabulous camp season.  Rambo and I have been hard at work planning some new and exciting things for this summer, and one of our biggest announcements has to be the addition of The Blob.  For those of you who don’t know what a Blob is I will try to explain.  Basically, its a huge waterfront toy that sort of looks like a big bag of air.  One camper anxiously sits atop the “bag” while another camper launches off of a 15 ft platform and lands on the Blob below.  Physics take over and the camper who was sitting on the blob is catapolted up into the air and out into the lake.  Campers and staff alike will find this to be a huge hit and great addition to Adams Lake.

In other summer news, we are putting together the final pieces of our Hero II program.  This program will be a fairly intensive leadership training camp experience for select campers who are rising 11th graders.  If you fall into that category, you should receive an info pack shortly, but feel free to call us for more information on how to apply for this program.  It will be offered in the 13-day sessions and will be open to a limited number of participants.  So, for all of you who thought you were aging out of camp, keep your eyes open for this option.

Stay tuned for more news about this summer.  We will be announcing our theme shortly as well as a few  other additions.

Life Is Precious

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Have you ever had one of those flash moments where you have a sudden reality check with thousands of thoughts running through your mind all at once and you almost wonder “What just happened?” or “What was that?”  I had the unfortunate opportunity to have one of these encounters yesterday.  I am glad I received my heart, mind, and soul check up, but I certainly didn’t like the circumstances that caused me to do so.  Let me explain in a little more detail what happened.
