The Front Porch - Online Edition

The supplies have been ordered, and the work has begun.

Rambo, Bacon, and Rick have been hard at work building the new Blob tower! It’s been a long process!

First we had to let lots of water out of the lake!

When the water level was down far enough, they began digging…

…and digging…

…and digging…

When the holes were 5 feet deep it was time to pour the concrete.  We used some round cardboard tubes to hold the concrete and to keep the hole from caving in!  Rambo and Bacon tried to use the tube as a hiding place for counselor hunt…..

Mixing all that concrete was hard work!  I wish I could have jumped in to help, but someone has to make sure the work is going smoothly and take pictures of course!

Each column contains over two TONS of concrete! Thank goodness T-bone showed up to help us carry all those bags of concrete!

After pouring this column, Mr. Larry and Mamma Norma arrived to help with the second hole.

After three longs days of digging and mixing, all four footers were poured!  The drain on the lake was tightened and after a couple of days of rain the lake is back at full capacity!  During a break in the rain yesterday we started the framing for the deck!
