“My God will meet all your needs. He will meet them in keeping with his wonderful riches that come to you because you belong to Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

What a great thing to remember in these difficult economic times!  God will meet all of our needs, all we have to do is ask and put our trust in Him.

In my Christian walk over the years, I have wondered from time to time why I don’t seem to see more of God moving in miraculous ways.  It’s certainly miraculous enough that the earth and that we even exist, but I’m talking about miracles on a personal level.  For instance, in times when James and I have been down financially we pray and give it to God, and then He comes through with unexpected money.  There have also been times when I have been down to the wire with the hiring of a horseback riding director for the summer and He orchestrates me meeting the right person at the right time.  Those instances have been real faith builders for me, and remind me that God really does care about the details of my life. The pastor of our church also talks of being in seminary, broke with a family of seven to feed, and having money down to the exact change needed come in just in time. (more…)

I recently came across a great quote.  “Babies are such a nice way to start people,” it reads.  I have the privilege of being reminded of this everyday.  Our youngest is almost 8 months old, and she has been such a joy.  Then I look at our 5 1/2 year old who was just a sweet baby herself a few minutes ago.  Now she can read, dress herself, brush her own teeth, and set the table.  Wow, that went fast!  Our time of influence on her as parents is nearly 1/3 of the way over. Strong Rock Christmas Tree

Oh how I love seeing camp friends, especially at Christmas time!  Bacon, Rambo, Corie, and I have been looking forward to the Strong Rock Christmas Party for weeks!  Many past staff members came up to celebrate the Christmas season Strong Rock Style.  The dining hall was decorated to the nines, but the party didn’t officially start until your favorite counselors arrived, where they had to guess how many M&Ms were in a large jar and complete a Christmas Movie Quiz!  Heather “Gert” Hummel won the jar filled with 2753 M&Ms.  Diana Cornman took the award for knowing the most Christmas movie facts!  Has anyone else out there ever heard of the Christmas movie “The Diner”?  Yeah, me either!  We then began the evening feasting on pizza, chips, veggies, and an array of the yummiest desserts ever!  We had banana pudding, peanut butter bars, rice crispy treats, yummy white chocolate ‘puppy chow’ and some amazing pumpkin muffins.  Maybe we can add some of those wonderful concoctions to the Cooking class recipes!
