Go-karts, Coasters, and Family Fun

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Many of you probably are just getting back in the groove from Spring Break fun and excitement.  Though I didn’t truly have a Spring Break, I did get to take a little time off last week to spend time with my family.  My wife and I spent the first half of the week hosting her sister and our niece for a few days.  The girls ate Sushi and got pedicures Monday while I worked and then we spent Tuesday together down in Atlanta eating some scrumptious (read unhealthy) lunch at Johnny Rockets followed by a tour of the New World of Coke.  The 4D experience was pretty cool, but the highlight was the tasting room where much to my dismay, we got suckered into tasting the Beverly.  Yeah, I fell for it…  all of the tour guides rave about the Beverly, so you just have to try it.  Well, spare yourself the agony and take it from me, if you don’t like cough syrup, you probably won’t like this one.  At any rate, we did find a few decent flavors to wash down the despicable Beverly, and then left the tour with our cool little 8 oz bottle of Coke.  With our bellies full of Coke, we made the trek back home and settled in to a local pizza hot spot for some great dinner before retiring for the evening.

New for 2009 - THE BLOB and more…

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

The summer is right around the corner and we are getting so excited about another fabulous camp season.  Rambo and I have been hard at work planning some new and exciting things for this summer, and one of our biggest announcements has to be the addition of The Blob.  For those of you who don’t know what a Blob is I will try to explain.  Basically, its a huge waterfront toy that sort of looks like a big bag of air.  One camper anxiously sits atop the “bag” while another camper launches off of a 15 ft platform and lands on the Blob below.  Physics take over and the camper who was sitting on the blob is catapolted up into the air and out into the lake.  Campers and staff alike will find this to be a huge hit and great addition to Adams Lake.

In other summer news, we are putting together the final pieces of our Hero II program.  This program will be a fairly intensive leadership training camp experience for select campers who are rising 11th graders.  If you fall into that category, you should receive an info pack shortly, but feel free to call us for more information on how to apply for this program.  It will be offered in the 13-day sessions and will be open to a limited number of participants.  So, for all of you who thought you were aging out of camp, keep your eyes open for this option.

Stay tuned for more news about this summer.  We will be announcing our theme shortly as well as a few  other additions.
